• • Election Retention Policy

    Elections created but not launched within 180 days.
    Any election created, but not launched within 180 days of creation will be deleted in full. All associated data will be removed. This is a non recoverable action.
    
    Elections created and launched.
    Elections are retained for a period of 180 Days after the close of a launched election.
    
    
    21 days before the removal date, the election administrator is sent an email reminding them of the cleanup and offering the opportunity to extend for an additional 90 days.
    
    Should the election administrator take this option, the cleanup date has 90 days added.
    
    The election administrator can only do this once, and cannot extend again until they get another 21 day warning.
    
    By extending the retention date, The election administrator is giving explicit agreement of the retention of any election data for this extension period.
    
    

  • Who the Service is for

    Accounts on Choice Voting are held by organisations and operated by adults. The people invited to vote, submit nominations or take part in a consultation may include children, for example pupils taking part in a school's student council or pupil voice election. In every case the inviting organisation is the data controller. It decides who takes part, is responsible for the lawful basis and for any consent needed from a parent or guardian, and provides the only personal data we hold about a voter. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children except as part of an election or consultation run by their organisation.

    sessionStorage allows this Application to store and access data right in the User's browser. Data in sessionStorage is deleted automatically when the session ends (in other words, when the browser tab is closed).
