    Two Methods of Targeted Advertising

family.one Network properties may deliver targeted advertising in two ways:

    Property-Managed Targeting
The family.one Network property itself may display targeted ads or Promotions relevant to your interests based on your activities and interactions within that property. This may include extending certain ads or offers to you via email, social media, or other channels, provided you have agreed to receive communications from that property. In these scenarios, the Third Party advertiser does not directly access your user-level targeting data; the property manages the targeting internally (e.g., using anonymized or aggregated audience parameters).

    Third-Party Direct Targeting
In cases where you have explicitly consented to receive communications or offers from a specific Third Party, that Third Party may select users to target through the relevant family.one Network property—or even beyond it, such as on external platforms. For these targeted campaigns, the Third Party has granular control over which users see specific content based on the permissions you have granted. For more information on how to opt out or adjust your targeting preferences, please see the “Information on Opting Out of Interest-Based Advertising” section and the “Opting Out” instructions in our Terms of Service (Advertising and Promotions).

    Curate My Trail

Curate My Trail plans your trail around what you and your family need: the booths, talks, giveaways and products that fit you, in the best order. It gets smarter the more you use ShowTrail and family.one. It is off until you turn it on; until then, ShowTrail shows everything in the show's own order and nothing below applies.

What it uses. Your answers to a few short questions, and what you save, visit and tap in ShowTrail and family.one. Other family.one apps will ask you before they use it for their own suggestions.

Everyone's picks help everyone. Like a traffic app, where every trip helps others find the best route, your activity is combined with everyone's to make every trail better. This happens inside family.one's systems. No one else sees your activity: not other members, exhibitors, sponsors or organisers. Help others is on when you turn on Curate My Trail; you can switch it off in the feature's settings at any time.

Life stage (optional). We may ask where you are right now (for example getting ready for baby, or a toddler at home) and what would help at this stage. Answering is up to you, and it is how you agree to its use: your answers tailor your trail and, combined with others', help people at the same stage. Some answers, such as getting ready for baby, can reveal a pregnancy, so we treat them with extra care:
    • We never use them to suggest products.
    • We never share them with exhibitors, sponsors, organisers or retailers.
    • Switching Life stage off in the feature's settings stops their use and deletes them.

Products. Products that fit you are part of your suggestions; you can switch Products off in the feature's settings. Some product links are paid links: family.one may earn a commission if you buy, for example through the Amazon Associates program. When you tap a product, we record the tap and use it to learn which kinds of products and brands are useful. We don't use information from Amazon or any other retailer about what you buy. We don't send your answers or your activity to Amazon or any other retailer.

Where it's kept, and for how long. What you share and do is saved to your family.one account, so it works on your other devices and you can come back to it, including after the show. It stays until you delete it (in the feature's settings) or delete your account. Deleted data can remain in encrypted backups for up to 35 days before it is gone. A copy stays on your phone while you are signed in and is removed when you sign out. We keep a record of each time you turn the feature or one of its settings on or off, with the exact words you saw, as proof of your choices. Those records are stored in Canada.

Why a suggestion appears. Each suggestion shows a short reason, such as the answer it matches, that people like you found it useful, or that a giveaway is running at that booth. Suggestions only change the order in which things are shown; nothing is hidden from you and no decision is made about you. You can change your answers at any time, or contact us at privacy@family.one to ask how a suggestion was made or to have a person review it.

A copy of your information. You can ask privacy@family.one for a copy of everything Curate My Trail holds about you, in a common file format. We answer within 30 days.

Pausing and deleting. In the feature's settings you can pause it for a show, which stops suggestions for that show and keeps what you shared for when you turn it back on, or delete your curation data, which removes your answers and activity for that show.

We do not directly engage with minors, nor do we collect or track a child’s online behaviour. If you believe we have collected Personal Data from or about a minor without the requisite adult consent, please contact us by email at privacy@family.one, and we will promptly investigate and address the situation.

    Your show activity (ShowTrail)

When you are signed in, ShowTrail saves what you do with a show: the exhibitors and sessions you save or like, the stops you add to My Trail, and the booths and sessions you mark as visited or attended. For each booth or session you mark, we store its identifier, whether it was a booth or a session, the date and time you marked it, and which screen you marked it from.

You record these yourself — with a tap, by scanning a booth's QR code, or by entering its name. ShowTrail does not use your device's location or any background tracking to work out where you have been, and it never detects your presence on its own — a booth or a session is recorded only because you chose to record it, and because you are the one recording it, it reflects what you say you did rather than anything we have verified. You can undo any of these records at any time, and undoing removes the record.

We use this to show you your own trail and your own record of your day inside ShowTrail, and, if you turn on Curate My Trail, to plan your trail around what you and your family need (see "Curate My Trail"). We do not share it with exhibitors, sponsors or show organisers, and we do not use it to target advertising to you. We keep it for as long as your account exists, and it is deleted when you delete your account.

  • Infrastructure monitoring

This type of service allows family.one network to monitor the use and behavior of its components so its performance, operation, maintenance and troubleshooting can be improved. Which Personal Data are processed depends on the characteristics and mode of implementation of these services, whose function is to filter the activities of family.one network.

    Firebase Performance Monitoring (Google LLC)

Firebase Performance Monitoring is a monitoring service provided by Google LLC.

Personal Data processed: Trackers; various types of Data as specified in the privacy policy of the service.

Place of processing: United States – Privacy Policy.

Sentry (Crash and Performance Monitoring) (Functional Software, Inc.)

The family.one Network, including ShowTrail, uses Sentry, a monitoring service provided by Functional Software, Inc., to capture and analyze crash reports and performance issues. The data processed includes crash logs, stack traces, device identifiers, and basic usage context needed to diagnose errors. Crash and performance data is retained for 90 days before automatic deletion. The purpose of this processing is to maintain application stability, identify bugs, and improve user experience. Place of processing: United States — Privacy Policy. (https://sentry.io/privacy/)

In the ShowTrail mobile app, Sentry receives error reports and a small sample of performance data, without your name, email address or account ID. The app does not record session replays.

    Firebase (Google services)

The family.one Network, including ShowTrail, may integrate certain Firebase services provided by Google LLC to support application reliability, messaging, and related functionality. For ShowTrail, the only Firebase services in use are Realtime Database (described above) and, on the ShowTrail website only, Cloud Messaging for browser notifications that a signed-in user turns on. ShowTrail does not use Firebase Performance Monitoring, Crashlytics, Analytics or Authentication. If other Firebase services are enabled for ShowTrail, they will process only the data necessary for their operation: for example, Cloud Messaging would process a device push token to deliver notifications; Authentication would process account credentials to log users in; Crashlytics would process crash logs and stack traces to diagnose errors; and Analytics would process event and device information to measure in-app usage. Where applicable, standard Firebase retention applies (for example, Crashlytics 90 days; Performance Monitoring 30 days; Analytics user- and event-level data 2 to 14 months depending on settings; Authentication data retained until the developer deletes the user; database and storage content retained while maintained by the developer). ShowTrail does not use Apple’s IDFA or third-party advertising SDKs for cross-app tracking. Place of processing: United States and other Google data center locations as described by Google; see Google’s Privacy Policy and Firebase Privacy & Security for details.

  • Interaction with external social networks and platforms

This type of service allows interaction with social networks or other external platforms directly from the pages of family.one network.
The interaction and information obtained through family.one network are always subject to the User’s privacy settings for each social network.
This type of service might still collect traffic data for the pages where the service is installed, even when Users do not use it.
It is recommended to log out from the respective services in order to make sure that the processed data on family.one network isn’t being connected back to the User’s profile.

Facebook Like Button and Social Widgets (Facebook, Inc.)

The Facebook Like Button and Social Widgets are services allowing interaction with the Facebook social network provided by Meta Platforms, Inc. or by Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, depending on how the Owner manages the Data processing.

Personal Data processed: Cookies; Usage Data.

Place of processing: US – Privacy Policy.

  • Location-based interactions

    Location Access

The family.one network may request permission to access a user's location in order to verify attendance at events or eligibility for location-specific engagements (such as giveaways). Location data is collected only upon explicit user consent and is never collected passively in the background. ShowTrail does not use device geolocation and does not ask for location permission. Nothing in ShowTrail detects or verifies where you are: you find your way around a show using its map, and a booth or a session is recorded as visited only when you mark it yourself (see "Your show activity"). Users may manage or revoke permissions through their device settings at any time.

  • Managing contacts and sending messages

This type of services makes it possible to manage a database of email contacts, phone contacts or any other contact information to communicate with the User.
These services may also collect data concerning the date and time when the message was viewed by the User, as well as when the User interacted with it, such as by clicking on links included in the message.

Mailchimp (The Rocket Science Group, LLC.)

Mailchimp is an email address management and message sending service provided by Intuit Inc.

    Personal Data processed: email address.

Place of processing: US – Privacy Policy.

    Sendgrid (Sendgrid)

Sendgrid is an email address management and message sending service provided by Sendgrid Inc.

Personal Data processed: address; country; date of birth; email address; first name; gender; last name; phone number; Usage Data.

Place of processing: United States – Privacy Policy.

    Twilio (Twilio, Inc.)

Twilio is a phone numbers management and communication service provided by Twilio, Inc.

    Personal Data processed: phone number.

Place of processing: United States – Privacy Policy.

    Notifications & Communications

We may send communications through in-app notifications, SMS, or email to provide essential information such as policy updates, account verification, event participation confirmations, and optional marketing content. Essential communications (such as account security or participation confirmations) may not be opted out of, while promotional communications can be managed or opted out of through user settings at any time.

    Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google LLC)

Firebase Cloud Messaging is a message sending service provided by Google LLC. Firebase Cloud Messaging allows the Owner to send messages and notifications to Users across platforms such as Android, iOS, and the web. Messages can be sent to single devices, groups of devices, or specific topics or User segments.

Personal Data processed: Trackers; various types of Data as specified in the privacy policy of the service.

Place of processing: United States – Privacy Policy.

    Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM)

On the ShowTrail website, ShowTrail uses Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver browser notifications to signed-in users who turn them on, and generates and manages a device token for that purpose. The ShowTrail mobile app does not use push notifications. Tokens are deleted when a user deletes their account. Expired or invalid tokens are automatically purged by Firebase, and invalid tokens are also removed from Postgres records. Notification delivery logs are retained for 30 days for debugging purposes.

  • Marketing

    Cross-Promotions

Data sharing may include ShowTrail and other family.one Network services. Such sharing occurs only with express consent provided by users and in accordance with applicable laws.

Data collected within the family.one Network, including ShowTrail, may be used across family.one services where users have provided consent. This enables cross-promotions such as giveaways or relevant opportunities. Data sharing is limited to engagement stakeholders and sponsors, and always in accordance with user consent.

  • Operations

    Auto-Generated Content

Certain exhibitor content displayed within the App — including descriptions of booths, Points of Engagement, and promotional summaries — may be generated automatically based on available exhibitor data. We use AI tools to assemble this content. Third Parties have the opportunity to review and modify this material. The content is presented for informational purposes only and does not constitute an endorsement.

  • Provision of the Service

    Address suggestions (Canada Post AddressComplete)

On the ShowTrail website, when you type a postal address, ShowTrail's server sends the text you type to Canada Post AddressComplete, provided by Canada Post Corporation, to suggest matching addresses. The ShowTrail mobile app does not use this service. Place of processing: Canada.

  • Registration and authentication

By registering or authenticating, Users allow family.one network to identify them and give them access to dedicated services. Depending on what is described below, third parties may provide registration and authentication services. In this case, family.one network will be able to access some Data, stored by these third-party services, for registration or identification purposes. Some of the services listed below may also collect Personal Data for targeting and profiling purposes; to find out more, please refer to the description of each service.

    Firebase Authentication (Google LLC)

Firebase Authentication is a registration and authentication service provided by Google LLC. To simplify the registration and authentication process, Firebase Authentication can make use of third-party identity providers and save the information on its platform.

    Personal Data processed: email address.

Place of processing: United States – Privacy Policy.

    Firebase Authentication

Firebase Authentication may be used by other properties within the family.one network. ShowTrail does not use it. ShowTrail accounts are created and accessed with a one-time link or code sent to the user's email address (see "Account sign-in with Amazon Cognito and Amazon SES"). We do not collect or store passwords.

    Phone number verification (ShowTrail)

ShowTrail does not ask for a phone number when you create an account. If you add a phone number to your ShowTrail account (for example, because an engagement you choose to enter on the ShowTrail website requires one), ShowTrail sends a one-time verification code to that number by SMS. The message is delivered through Amazon Web Services End User Messaging (or Amazon Pinpoint), which acts as a processor for family.one. A code is valid for 10 minutes and can be tried only a limited number of times before you must request a new one.

The verified phone number is stored on your family.one profile and is used to confirm that you control the number and to protect your account. If your account is a ShowTrail-only account, the phone number is deleted together with the rest of your account data when you delete the account. If your ShowTrail access is linked to a wider family.one account, the number remains on that profile until you remove it or delete the account.

Personal Data processed: phone number; verification code; time of the request; the device and network identifiers needed to deliver the message.

Place of processing: United States – Privacy Policy (Amazon Web Services).

Account sign-in with Amazon Cognito and Amazon SES

ShowTrail creates each account in Amazon Cognito, provided by Amazon Web Services, Inc., which holds the account's email address and a random account identifier. The one-time sign-in links and codes are sent by email through Amazon Simple Email Service (SES), also provided by Amazon Web Services, Inc. Amazon processes this information on our behalf. Place of processing: United States.

    Email address check (NeverBounce)

When a new account is created, family.one may use NeverBounce to check that the email address entered can receive mail. NeverBounce receives only the email address being checked. The check is skipped for common email providers. Place of processing: United States.

  • Remarketing and behavioral targeting

This type of service allows family.one network and its partners to inform, optimize and serve advertising based on past use of family.one network by the User.
This activity is facilitated by tracking Usage Data and by using Trackers to collect information which is then transferred to the partners that manage the remarketing and behavioral targeting activity.
Some services offer a remarketing option based on email address lists.
In addition to any opt-out feature provided by any of the services below, Users may opt out by visiting the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page.

Users may also opt-out of certain advertising features through applicable device settings, such as the device advertising settings for mobile phones or ads settings in general.

Google Ad Manager Audience Extension (Google LLC)

Google Ad Manager Audience Extension is a remarketing and behavioral targeting service provided by Google LLC that tracks the visitors of family.one network and allows selected advertising partners to display targeted ads across the web to them.

In order to understand Google's use of Data, consult Google's partner policy.

Personal Data processed: Tracker; Usage Data.

Place of processing: United States – Privacy Policy – Opt Out.

  • Tag Management

This type of service helps the Owner to manage the tags or scripts needed on family.one network in a centralized fashion.
This results in the Users' Data flowing through these services, potentially resulting in the retention of this Data.

    Google Tag Manager (Google LLC)

Google Tag Manager is a tag management service provided by Google LLC.

In order to understand Google's use of Data, consult their partner policy and their Business Data page.

Personal Data processed: Tracker; Usage Data.

Place of processing: United States – Privacy Policy.

  • Traffic optimization and distribution

This type of service allows family.one network to distribute their content using servers located across different countries and to optimize their performance. Which Personal Data are processed depends on the characteristics and the way these services are implemented. Their function is to filter communications between family.one network and the User's browser. Considering the widespread distribution of this system, it is difficult to determine the locations to which the contents that may contain Personal Information of the User are transferred.

Amazon CloudFront (Amazon Web Services, Inc.)

Amazon CloudFront is a traffic optimization and distribution service provided by Amazon Web Services, Inc.

Personal Data processed: browser information; city; country; county; device information; geography/region; IP address; latitude (of city); longitude (of city); metro area; operating systems; state; Usage Data; ZIP/Postal code.

Place of processing: United States – Privacy Policy.

    Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc.)

Cloudflare is a traffic optimization and distribution service provided by Cloudflare Inc. The way Cloudflare is integrated means that it filters all the traffic through family.one network, i.e., communication between family.one network and the User's browser, while also allowing analytical data from family.one network to be collected.

Personal Data processed: various types of Data as specified in the privacy policy of the service.

Place of processing: United States – Privacy Policy.

    Personal Data processed: Usage Data.

Place of processing: Poland – Privacy Policy.

  • User database management

This type of service allows the Owner to build user profiles by starting from an email address, a personal name, or other information that the User provides to family.one network, as well as to track User activities through analytics features. This Personal Data may also be matched with publicly available information about the User (such as social networks' profiles) and used to build private profiles that the Owner can display and use for improving family.one network. Some of these services may also enable the sending of timed messages to the User, such as emails based on specific actions performed on family.one network.

    Property-Specific vs. Network-Wide Account Closure

When you close your account on any individual family.one Network property, we will delete or anonymize any data specifically associated with that property. However, unless you close your entire family.one Network account (i.e., all properties where you maintain an account), your basic profile remains active across other Member Properties. If you later rejoin a property you previously closed, a new record will be created for that property; any past activity or data associated with your previous membership on that property will no longer be available. To fully delete your account and all associated data across all Member Properties, you must close your account for every property. For instructions, see “Deletion of User Data” below.

Account Deletion & Consent Log Retention (Custom Clause)

Users may delete their account at any time from within the app. When an account is deleted, all personal data is either deleted or anonymized. Consent logs are retained in immutable records for 7 years as a legal precaution in case of disputes.

A consent record contains your account identifier and email address, what you agreed to and its version, the time, and the IP address of the device used; for consents given on the ShowTrail website to share details with an exhibitor, it also contains the browser's user-agent string.

Information on opting out of interest-based advertising

In addition to any opt-out feature provided by any of the services listed in this document, Users may learn more on how to generally opt out of interest-based advertising within the dedicated section of the Cookie Policy.

  • Securing your data

We prioritize your security by implementing passwordless login as the default authentication method. This involves the use of auto-expiring one-time login tokens sent by email, which require access to your email account. Some family.one Network properties additionally support third-party login via OAuth2 partners; the ShowTrail app does not. This method significantly reduces the risk associated with traditional passwords. While we recommend against the use of traditional passwords due to the inherent security risks, we understand that some users may prefer or require them. In such cases, passwords are never stored as clear text - they are always hashed (and salted) securely using industry-standard encryption methods. We utilize secure authentication protocols that ensure passwords are not stored directly, but instead, a secure verifier is stored which allows verification without receiving the password itself. These verifiers are encrypted using advanced encryption standards. Registration and all data transmissions are performed through a secure connection using Transport Layer Security (TLS). We require TLS 1.2 and recommend TLS 1.3, ensuring secure communication between clients and our services. All personally identifiable data (PID) is stored on servers that comply with AICPA SOC 2 Type II and PCI DSS standards. Our data centers are physically secured 24/7 with biometric scanners and other technical security measures. These servers also hold ISO 27001 and ISO 27018 certifications, ensuring the highest levels of data security. Access to the database is restricted to a required access-only basis and accessed only through a secure connection. Login to the database is secured against brute force attacks and tested regularly.

  • family.one Connect and Shopify

This section was added on October 1, 2026.

family.one Connect is our application for exhibitors at consumer shows. If you connect a Shopify store to family.one Connect, this section explains the information we receive from your store and how we handle it. It applies in addition to the rest of this Privacy Policy and to Schedule D of the family.one Network Terms of Service for Third Parties.

Information we receive through Shopify. When you instruct us, we read the products you choose to feature and create the discount codes you authorize. We also read basic details about your store and your plan: your store's address (domain), currency, billing country and province, and the status, cap and balance of your Referral commission plan. To find orders we referred and to bill our commission, we read limited order information: the order identifier; order, cancellation and refund dates; currency; the discounted subtotal and the line amounts used to check it; discount codes used; refund amounts; and whether the order is a test order. We read Shopify's referral and visit indicators at the moment we check an order, to find a family.one referral and any later referral source. We do not keep them. We keep only the click identifier or discount code value that matched, as evidence of the referral (see "How long we keep it"). We do not request any shopper's name, email address, phone number or postal address, and once we have checked an order we keep no record of it unless we referred it.

Information from your shoppers. When a shopper follows a family.one link to your store, our link service adds an opaque click identifier to the link address. Your store and Shopify receive it with the visit and may record it in their own analytics. We also save a click record: the identifier, the date, and which of your products, which show, which Host and which page the link was for. We keep daily counts of clicks for the same product, show and page. The click record contains no name, account, IP address, device details or cookie, and the link is the same for every person who follows it. We delete click records 60 days after the click. We do not place cookies on your store. Separately, when a signed-in family.one or ShowTrail member taps a product, that tap is recorded in their own account as described in "Curate My Trail" above.

Information from you. We collect the details you provide for your family.one Connect account, such as your name, business email address and organisation details, and use them to operate your account as described elsewhere in this Privacy Policy.

How we use it. We use this information to show your products and codes to show attendees, to determine which orders we referred, to calculate, bill and evidence our commission through Shopify, to detect errors and fraud, and to keep tax records. We do not use the order information we receive through Shopify for advertising, profiling or ranking, or to train any machine-learning or artificial-intelligence system. We do not sell the order information, use it to contact your shoppers, or use it to compare you with other merchants. We use click records to find the orders we referred, to show you daily click counts, and to detect fraud.

How long we keep it. We delete attribution evidence (the referral identifier or code value) within 30 days after the first of these: the commission is charged; the order is cancelled or otherwise bears no commission; your plan ends; or you uninstall the app. For an order still awaiting payment, we delete it no later than 90 days after the order date. Within 30 days after you uninstall, we delete all information from your store, except the financial records of commission that tax law requires us to keep (described below). We keep those for six years and use them for nothing else. We also keep the record that you accepted Schedule D (who accepted it, when, and which version) in our consent records, which are immutable and are kept as described under "Account Deletion & Consent Log Retention" above. Our records of your store's domain and billing country and province are kept with the financial records. We act on Shopify's data-request and redaction notices. Because we store no shopper names or contact details, a shopper data request will normally return nothing. A shop-redaction notice deletes the store information described above, except the financial records we must keep.

Where we process it. We store and process this information, including your store and plan details, with Amazon Web Services in the United States. It is therefore subject to United States law and may be accessible to United States courts and authorities. Your Connect account details may be processed in Canada or the United States.

Who we share it with. We do not give order-level information to any Host, sponsor or advertiser. We use Amazon Web Services to host these systems and Shopify to bill the commission. Once a show's Host terms with us provide for it, and because you authorized it in Schedule D (clause D.7), we may give that show's Host totals for the show across participating stores (net attributed sales and commission), never order-level information, never a figure identified as yours, and never a total where fewer than three stores take part.

Your shoppers' notice. Under Schedule D, you are responsible for telling your shoppers, in your own privacy notice, that order information is disclosed to referral-marketing providers who are paid on resulting sales.

Your requests. To ask what we hold about you or your store, to correct it, or to have it deleted, or to pass on a request from a shopper, write to privacy@family.one. Because click and order records hold no name or contact details, we may be unable to match them to a person. If so, we will tell you.
