There are many integrations methods such as the following one suggested by Joseph Smith on our blog. For now, we’ll take a look at the steps needed to complete our suggested configuration of iubenda on Prestashop
First you need to access your online store’s admin panel by clicking on ‘Addons’ (Modules) and subsequently on ‘Addons and services’ from the menu on the left:
From the ‘Addons and services’ page, scroll until you encounter the ‘Block CMS’ add-on and select ‘Configure’
You’ll now see that the iubenda Privacy button is present in the footer of all the pages on your Prestashop online store!
iubenda cookie solution integration (banner, granting of consent and blocking of script)
Configuration of the iubenda Cookie Solution requires the modification of the
HEAD on your own Prestashop site. To this end, you must first – as shown in the image below – access the ‘Themes’ panel by clicking on ‘Preferences’ on the menu to the left:
You then need to click on ‘Export theme’ at the top right:
Now select which theme you wish to modify by clicking on the ‘Save’ button at the bottom right.
On the following page, you must insert certain information such name and email and select which parts of the theme you want to export (it is also possible to export it in its entirety) and then click on the ‘Save button’ at the bottom right to start the download of the ZIP file containing the theme:
Once the theme file downloaded it will need to be unzipped. Look for the header.tpl file and open it with a text editor:
Once opened, you must paste the iubenda provided Cookie Solution Script right after the opening of HEAD tag. The script must be wrapped within the following tags:
Take a look at the example below to dispel any doubts:
The file must then be saved and used to subsitute the original file using a client such as FileZilla to do so. The correct position of the header.tpl file is “mywebsite > themes > name of selected theme”.
After completing this task and substituting the header.tpl file you must go back to the admin panel and click on “Advanced parameters” and then on “Service” on the menu to the left:
Please select “Never recompile template files” and opt not to use the cache:
By saving these changes, you’ll note that the Cookie Solution is correctly configured on your site: the cookie banner will now appear at every user’s first visit. All of the options to customise the tile and behaviour of the banner can be found in this guide.
Also remember to set up the preemptive blocking of cookies that require prior consent by chosen of the methods outlined in in this article.
