Among the types of Personal Data that Calm Calendar collects, by itself or through third parties, there are: various types of Data; email address; password; billing address; payment info; first name; last name; Data communicated while using the service; Read metadata; Modify; Insert and import.

Personal Data may be freely provided by the User, or, in case of Usage Data, collected automatically when using Calm Calendar.
Unless specified otherwise, all Data requested by Calm Calendar is mandatory and failure to provide this Data may make it impossible for Calm Calendar to provide its services. In cases where Calm Calendar specifically states that some Data is not mandatory, Users are free not to communicate this Data without consequences to the availability or the functioning of the Service.

The Owner takes appropriate security measures to prevent unauthorised access, disclosure, modification, or unauthorised destruction of the Data.
The Data processing is carried out using computers and/or IT enabled tools, following organisational procedures and modes strictly related to the purposes indicated. In addition to the Owner, in some cases, the Data may be accessible to certain types of persons in charge, involved with the operation of Calm Calendar (administration, sales, marketing, legal, system administration) or external parties (such as third-party technical service providers, mail carriers, hosting providers, IT companies, communications agencies) appointed, if necessary, as Data Processors by the Owner.   • processing is related to a task that is carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in the Owner;
  • processing is necessary for the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by the Owner or by a third party.

In any case, the Owner will gladly help to clarify the specific legal basis that applies to the processing, and in particular whether the provision of Personal Data is a statutory or contractual requirement, or a requirement necessary to enter into a contract.

Place

The Data is processed at the Owner's operating offices and in any other places where the parties involved in the processing are located.

Depending on the User's location, data transfers may involve transferring the User's Data to a country other than their own. To find out more about the place of processing of such transferred Data, Users can check the section containing details about the processing of Personal Data.

Users are also entitled to learn about the legal basis of Data transfers to a country outside the European Union or to any international organisation governed by public international law or set up by two or more countries, such as the UN, and about the security measures taken by the Owner to safeguard their Data.

Retention time

Personal Data shall be processed and stored for as long as required by the purpose they have been collected for.

Therefore:

  • Personal Data collected for purposes related to the performance of a contract between the Owner and the User shall be retained until such contract has been fully performed.
  • Personal Data collected for the purposes of the Owner’s legitimate interests shall be retained as long as needed to fulfill such purposes. Users may find specific information regarding the legitimate interests pursued by the Owner within the relevant sections of this document or by contacting the Owner.

The Owner may be allowed to retain Personal Data for a longer period whenever the User has given consent to such processing, as long as such consent is not withdrawn. Furthermore, the Owner may be obliged to retain Personal Data for a longer period whenever required to do so for the performance of a legal obligation or upon order of an authority.

Once the retention period expires, Personal Data shall be deleted. Therefore, the right of access, the right to erasure, the right to rectification and the right to data portability cannot be enforced after expiration of the retention period.

The purposes of processing

The Data concerning the User is collected to allow the Owner to provide its Service, comply with its legal obligations, respond to enforcement requests, protect its rights and interests (or those of its Users or third parties), detect any malicious or fraudulent activity, as well as the following: Data transfer outside the EU, Data transfer outside of the UK, Registration and authentication provided directly by Calm Calendar, Registration and authentication, Infrastructure monitoring, Handling payments and Handling activities related to productivity.

Detailed information on the processing of Personal Data

Personal Data is collected for the following purposes and using the following services:

  • Data transfer outside of the UK

    The Owner is allowed to transfer Personal Data collected within the UK to third countries only subject to specific legal requirements (so-called "restricted transfers"). Restricted transfers may take place according to the conditions specified below.

    Users can enquire with the Owner to learn which legal basis applies to which specific service.

    Data transfer abroad based on consent (UK) (Calm Calendar)

    If this is the legal basis, Personal Data of Users shall be transferred from the UK to third countries only if the User has explicitly consented to such transfer, after having been informed of the possible risks due to the absence of an adequacy decision and appropriate safeguards.

    In such cases, the Owner shall inform Users appropriately and collect their explicit consent via Calm Calendar.

    These services may be integrated with a wide range of third-party services disclosed within this privacy policy to enable the Owner to import or export Data needed for the relative activity.

    Gmail (Google LLC)

    Gmail is a service that manages email communication provided by Google LLC. Such email communication is not scanned by Google for advertising purposes. In addition, Google does not collect or use data inside this service for advertising purposes in any other way.

  • Handling payments

    Unless otherwise specified, Calm Calendar processes any payments by credit card, bank transfer or other means via external payment service providers. In general and unless where otherwise stated, Users are requested to provide their payment details and personal information directly to such payment service providers. Calm Calendar isn't involved in the collection and processing of such information: instead, it will only receive a notification by the relevant payment service provider as to whether payment has been successfully completed.

    Stripe (Stripe Inc)

    Stripe is a payment service provided by Stripe Inc.

    Personal Data processed: billing address; email address; first name; last name; payment info.

  • Infrastructure monitoring

    This type of service allows Calm Calendar to monitor the use and behaviour of its components so its performance, operation, maintenance and troubleshooting can be improved.
    Which Personal Data are processed depends on the characteristics and mode of implementation of these services, whose function is to filter the activities of Calm Calendar.

    Bugsnag (Bugsnag Inc.)

    Bugsnag is a monitoring service provided by Bugsnag Inc.

    Personal Data processed: email address.

  • Registration and authentication

    By registering or authenticating, Users allow Calm Calendar to identify them and give them access to dedicated services.
    Depending on what is described below, third parties may provide registration and authentication services. In this case, Calm Calendar will be able to access some Data, stored by these third-party services, for registration or identification purposes.
    Some of the services listed below may also collect Personal Data for targeting and profiling purposes; to find out more, please refer to the description of each service.

    Google OAuth (Google LLC)

    Google OAuth is a registration and authentication service provided by Google LLC and is connected to the Google network.

    Gmail permissions to access User Data (OAuth addition) (Google LLC)

    To provide its service, Calm Calendar uses restricted scopes for Gmail which allow access to User Data related to this Google service (as indicated below). This access is provided by Google LLC under strict terms. Here's what this means for such User Data:

    • The use of User Data is limited to providing or improving User-facing features. User Data will not be used for serving ads, including retargeting, personalised, or interest-based advertising.
    • User Data will be transferred to third parties only if necessary, to provide or improve User-facing features and as necessary to comply with applicable law or as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets with notice to Users.
    • Humans will not read the Data unless:
      • the Owner has obtained the User's affirmative agreement for specific messages;
      • it is necessary for security purposes and/or to comply with applicable law, or;
      • the use is limited to internal operations and the Data (including derivations) have been aggregated and anonymised.

  • Registration and authentication provided directly by Calm Calendar

    By registering or authenticating, Users allow Calm Calendar to identify them and give them access to dedicated services. The Personal Data is collected and stored for registration or identification purposes only. The Data collected are only those necessary for the provision of the service requested by the Users.

    Direct registration (Calm Calendar)

    The User registers by filling out the registration form and providing the Personal Data directly to Calm Calendar.

The rights of Users

Users may exercise certain rights regarding their Data processed by the Owner.

In particular, Users have the right to do the following:

Information collected automatically through Calm Calendar (or third-party services employed in Calm Calendar), which can include: the IP addresses or domain names of the computers utilised by the Users who use Calm Calendar, the URI addresses (Uniform Resource Identifier), the time of the request, the method utilised to submit the request to the server, the size of the file received in response, the numerical code indicating the status of the server's answer (successful outcome, error, etc.), the country of origin, the features of the browser and the operating system utilised by the User, the various time details per visit (e.g., the time spent on each page within the Application) and the details about the path followed within the Application with special reference to the sequence of pages visited, and other parameters about the device operating system and/or the User's IT environment.

User

The individual using Calm Calendar who, unless otherwise specified, coincides with the Data Subject.

Data Subject

The natural person to whom the Personal Data refers.
