Dementia Training Australia (DTA) is funded by the Australia Federal Department of Health, Dementia and Aged Care Services (DACS) Fund, Grant ID: 4-BC4JLUF.
On the terms of this grant (administered by University of Wollongong), DTA is required on contract to provide regular reports to the Australian Government relating to the use and users of DTA courses, activities, and resources. These reports require DTA to collect minimum data sets from users relating to workforce care sector, occupation, training outcomes, and satisfaction with services. This minimum data set is provided to the Australian Government as an aggregated deidentified summary, and DTA does not provide personal details or any information that can identify individuals and organisations.
DTA has contractual obligations to work with key research organisations to ensure the evidence-based currency and integrity of training options, and to contribute to the knowledge base on impact of training on dementia care practice. Deidentified grouped data sets collected by DTA may be subjected to secondary data mining and used in publications and presentations, subject to the review and approval of the human research ethics committee of the University of Wollongong (project reference number 2017/585, for further information about the ethical oversight of the data, please read this Information Sheet)
