This document informs Users about the technologies that help PATENTsmarter™ to achieve the purposes described below. The validity and expiration periods of Cookies and other similar Trackers may vary depending on the lifetime set by the Owner or the relevant provider. Some of them expire upon termination of the User’s browsing session.
In addition to what’s specified in the descriptions within each of the categories below, Users may find more precise and updated information regarding lifetime specification as well as any other relevant information — such as the presence of other Trackers — in the linked privacy policies of the respective third-party providers or by contacting the Owner.

Browser Fingerprinting (PATENTsmarter™)
Browser Fingerprinting creates an identifier based on a device's unique combination of characteristics (e.g. IP address, HTTP header, browser properties etc.), that allows to distinguish the User from other Users, thereby enabling to track the User's browsing behavior across the web. Browser Fingerprinting does not have an expiration date and cannot be deleted.

The iubenda Consent Database allows to store and retrieve records of Users’ consent to the processing of Personal Data, and information and preferences expressed in relation to the provided consent.
In order to do so, it makes use of a Tracker that temporarily stores pending information on the User’s device until it is processed by the API. The Tracker (a browser feature called localStorage) is at that point deleted.

The WPML plugin includes a feature called Translation Management. It helps us manage our content’s translation better and offers multiple tools for sending content for translation. We will send our page content, without your personal information to wpml.org or translation services for the purpose of translating that content. WPML helps me with the practical multi-lingual settings

Sessions.us is a webinar and event hosting software and Sessions Technologies Romania SRL, a Romanian affiliated company (“Sessions Romania”) is the joint controller of any information processed in connection with the Privacy Policy they include with their services for customers located in EU, which includes PATENTsmarter™ (located in Denmark).
Sessions.us is one of the software programs that PATENTsmarter™ uses to facilitate 1:1 sparring sessions, online meetings, webinars, workshops, and more, and thus will also be the data processor collecting, using, and being responsible for specific personal data about you. Because PATENTsmarter™ operates in Europe, Sessions.us is bound by EU General Data Protection Regulation (EU GDPR) regarding the goods and services we offer to individuals and our broader operations in the European Economic Area (EEA).]
Data processing addendum - GDPR
In certain circumstances, Sessions.us will process personal data on PATENTsmarter™'s behalf and thus act as a data processor, according to article 28 of EU GDPR. Thus a Data Processing Addendum (DPA) with PATENTsmarter™ and Sessions.us is in place to ensure that personal data is processed by applicable data protection laws and regulations.
The DPA outlines the terms and conditions governing the processing of personal data by us as a data processor. It includes provisions regarding the nature and purpose of the processing, the types of personal data processed, the duration of the processing, and the security measures implemented to protect the personal data.

Quickpay - Payment Gateway
Quickpay service
Registration for Quickpay enables the customer’s online store to accept payments over the Internet. Quickpay receives approval from the respective acquirers, using certified software, and all transfers between Quickpay and acquiring banks are encrypted.
PATENTsmarter's™ Responsibilities
PATENTsmarter™ is responsible for the software in PATENTsmarter's™online stores, ensuring payment transfers can be made through Quickpay. Quickpay accepts no responsibility for the modules, which are made available free of charge.
PATENTsmarter™ is responsible for ensuring that payment transfers comply with applicable laws including the rules and guidelines laid down in payment card legislation, registration regulations, and consumer protection.
Quickpay Privacy Policy
Quickpay provides a payment gateway for e-commerce websites. This Privacy Policy describes how personal information is collected, used, and shared when you install or uses Quickpay with your ecommerce store.
Personal Information Quickpay Collects
When you use Quickpay, we are automatically able to access certain types of information from your ecommerce store: Amount, currency, orderid, transactionid, IP address, browser type, language.
Additionally, Quickpay collect the data the merchant sends to Quickpay. Eg. if you add basket info, cardholder info such as name and address.

This software is used to transfer data from e.g., completed Facebook Lead Ads forms to my CRM (Customer Relationship Management) for the purpose of subscribing to newsletters through the double-opt-in process and transmitting additional information.
The transferred data is stored for 15 days using AES-256 Encrypted Amazon Relational Database Service for potential troubleshooting and support requests, and it is automatically and completely deleted after 15 days. The temporary storage of the IP address by the system is necessary to deliver the website to your computer. For this purpose, the IP address of your computer must be stored for the duration of the session. The storage of your data in log files is carried out to ensure the proper functioning of website connectivity, provide a comfortable user experience on our website, evaluate system security and stability, as well as for other administrative purposes.
The data will be deleted as soon as it is no longer necessary for the purpose of its collection.
In the case of data collected for the provision of the website, this occurs when the respective session is terminated.

PATENTsmarter™ participates in the IAB Europe Transparency & Consent Framework and complies with its Specifications and Policies. PATENTsmarter™ uses iubenda (identification number 123) as a Consent Management Platform.

The Meta pixel tracks conversions that can be attributed to ads on Facebook, Instagram and Meta Audience Network.

On the basis of these Data, personalized ads will be shown to Users suggested by Meta Lookalike Audience.

Meta Audience Network is an advertising service provided by Meta Platforms Ireland Limited In order to understand Meta's use of Data, consult Meta's data policy.
PATENTsmarter™ may use identifiers for mobile devices (including Android Advertising ID or Advertising Identifier for iOS, respectively) and technologies similar to cookies to run the Meta Audience Network service. One of the ways Audience Network shows ads is by using the User's ad preferences. The User can control this in the Facebook ad settings.

How to manage preferences on PATENTsmarter™
Users can set or update their preferences via the relevant privacy choices panel available on PATENTsmarter™.
With regard to any third-party Trackers, Users can manage their preferences via the related opt-out link (where provided), by using the means indicated in the third party's privacy policy, or by contacting the third party.
How to control or delete Cookies and similar technologies via your device settings
Users may use their own browser settings to:
- See what Cookies or other similar technologies have been set on the device;
- Block Cookies or similar technologies;
- Clear Cookies or similar technologies from the browser.
The browser settings, however, do not allow granular control of consent by category.

Users may also manage certain categories of Trackers used on mobile apps by opting out through relevant device settings such as the device advertising settings for mobile devices, or tracking settings in general (Users may open the device settings and look for the relevant setting).
How to opt out of interest-based advertising
Notwithstanding the above, Users may follow the instructions provided by YourOnlineChoices (EU and UK), the Network Advertising Initiative (US) and the Digital Advertising Alliance (US), DAAC (Canada), DDAI (Japan) or other similar services. Such initiatives allow Users to select their tracking preferences for most of the advertising tools. The Owner thus recommends that Users make use of these resources in addition to the information provided in this document.
The Digital Advertising Alliance offers an application called AppChoices that helps Users to control interest-based advertising on mobile apps.
Consequences of denying the use of Trackers
Users are free to decide whether or not to allow the use of Trackers. However, please note that Trackers help PATENTsmarter™ to provide a better experience and advanced functionalities to Users (in line with the purposes outlined in this document). Therefore, if the User chooses to block the use of Trackers, the Owner may be unable to provide related features.
