The source code of your Shopify theme also needs to be modified in a similar manner as in the Configuring iubenda for Shopify tutorial, in order to include the Cookie Solution into your website. All the steps remain the same, except this time, we’re going to place the code in the
header instead of the
Access your Shopify store’s admin panel and go to “Online Store > Themes”. Once there, click on “Actions” on the right, then “Edit Code” as pictured:
If you’re using a sectioned theme, look under “Sections” and click on “Header.liquid”. If you’re using an older non-sectioned theme, just click on “theme.liquid” in the Templates directory. At this point, all that needs to be done is to locate the
header section and insert the Cookie Solution script provided by iubenda before the
</header> (in the older non-sectioned themes it’s called
This will cause the iubenda cookie banner to appear on the page at each user’s first visit. User consent will be registered via the latter’s continued browsing activity and then memorized so that the Cookie Solution will not be reactivated on the same user’s next visit.
